Verdancy Vale is a magical RPG that brings elements of farming simulation games (i.e. Stardew Valley, Harvest Moon) and roguelikes (i.e. Hades, Enter the Gungeon) together in a deeper twist on celebrated stories!

Players take the role of a disgraced magical student who, after failing first-year classes at Thrushwood Academy of Magic for ten years straight due to only ever grasping plant magic, is thrust out of magical society and into a long-forgotten town. This town - Ardent - is isolated from the rest of society by a dangerous, monster-infested forest called the Chaos Weald, and has been since its mysterious Archmage protector died.

Within Ardent, players have free rein. They can meet the colorful residents of the town, help them with tasks, and form lasting relationships. They can rebuild their new home (which once belonged to the Archmage, though it has been in disuse for decades) and foster a garden of the ages with plants both natural and arcane!

And if they so choose, they can venture into the Chaos Weald and attempt to forge paths out of Ardent, thus creating new opportunities for their small, cozy town.

Roll up your sleeves, young wizard. It’s time for some magic.

History

Verdancy Vale began development in late 2020 by Jacob Foxe of Silent Foxe Games, and it is his debut title.
